Unprecedented flooding in Pakistan triggered by heavy monsoon rains beginning July 27, 2010 have ploughed a swathe of destruction more than 1000 kilometers (600 miles) long from northwestern Pakistan, through Punjab farmlands all the way down to the Sindh Province in a matter of two weeks. The onslaught has caused the banks of dykes to burst, flooding hundreds of thousands of hectares of farm land in Sindh alone. At least 660,000 people to date have been evacuated from low-lying areas of the Indus river basin in Sindh (particularly areas in and around Jacobabad) to higher grounds including camps in Karachi and Quetta. According to an estimate, these evacuations have been carried out for over 90% of villages existing in the region. The following are some key findings of this study:

During 2010, a huge catastrophic occurred in Pakistan. The flood affected, the Sindh Province, the highest in population, in which the District Shikarpur was badly affected and hundreds of thousand people became homeless. Cropping was badly devastated. Cattles died in millions. People had nothing to eat, wear, or shelter to children. Older people were left to die by their families during the flood. Orphans had no body to look after them in times of difficulties either to support them in food, shelter, medicines. Hundreds of children died in stagnant water.

It was the First Center of Hope Pakistan Team who came ahead to support the evacuated people from the flood in District Shikarpur. In this regard, Center of Hope Pakistan and its team worked day & night to relief the flood affectees and collected donation 2 million from different School of Thoughts such as Teachers, Religious Persons, Students, Lawyers, Social Activists, Community Literate Persons, Authors, Writers, etc.
